Lots o' stuff!

It's a dart war! The boys pulled out a whole bunch of dart guns and had at it! Jon and the boys had a ball! They were chasin' each other all over! I was the innocent bystander coming through once in a while. Somehow I managed to not get hit!

Dad bein' sneeky!!

"Ow! Ya got me!"
This picture of Andrew and his preschool teacher was just too cute to pass up!
This was from the first round of snow we got before Christmas...it seemed like alot at the time, but we have lots more now!
The snow was actually good for my deer to help them stay up on windy days!

A Very Early Christmas Morning!

Well the boys were sure excited about Christmas this year...I had one little visitor (Caleb) at 5am! Sent him back to bed and then had 3 little visitors (I'm sure you know who!) at 6am. Sent them off again and told them we would get up at 6:30. They still came back again at 6:15! Andrew was so cute when he discovered his "fast car" at 6, he kept singing "Thank you Santa! Thank you Santa!" And of course that was his seat to open his other gifts.
Joshua was so cute with every gift he opened. So much enthusiasm! He either sang a song or did a dance or something. I will try to post some video soon.

And of course Caleb with his unique expressions!
Jon's chair at his office has been "dead" for quite some time now so here is a new one for him! He was so funny when he first sat in it, he said his back was thanking him already!
We had a great Christmas! It's been fun to have family visiting too! (Christmas time really is worth all the craziness that comes with it when you see all those smiling faces!!)

Christmas fun!

With all the crazyness going on we somehow managed to make some cards and gingerbread houses. I'm so glad we did, we had a bunch of fun! The boys gave the cards they made to their school teachers and primary teachers. And for the houses we actually were invited to a neigbor's for a gingerbread house party. There were a few families there and lots of candy! And I loved how we used graham crackers...it made it really easy to put together!

The Hair!

Every once in a while the boys refind where we store all of our costumes. Remember Jon's 60s costume, well Andrew found the hair...yikes! The hair is as big as he is!! Hahaha!

Thanksgiving turkey (not to eat)

So this year for Thanksgiving we used "turkey feathers" to write down what we are grateful for. I should have had a before and after picture because the "featherless" turkey looked pretty funny!

Being a family...

We had a great time having our pictures taken at Upper Ross Park. The trees were beautiful and there were leaves everywhere! There is one picture I won't post until after Christmas, and that is the family picture that turned out the best...I'm saving it to send in our Christmas cards. Don't want to spoil all of it!

The funny ones!

Part of the fun in taking pictures are the "goofy" pictures. Usually the "good" poses are the rare shots. So here are a few of our funny pics.

Mom the Mighty Moose Hunter

I just had to brag about Jon's mom, Ruth, that got a huge bull moose today! Yup that's right she shot it! Very impressive I thought! We first saw a young bull moose and were very tempted to just get that one, but Daryl had heard about a bigger one up there so we trekked on and luckily we did because someday this big guy is going on a wall!
There were 5 of us that went Mom, Daryl, Jon, me, and Casey (Daryl's son). We had a good time! Jon and Casey kept us laughing all the time!

Yes...that's moose hair...we love it when Jon makes us laugh!
Jon, Daryl, and Casey were troopers and prepped the whole moose to pack out...it took a couple hours. 2 horses packed out that whole moose...we love those draft horses that mom and Daryl have!

Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe

Today I made the chicken noodle soup again that I talked about in a previous post so I thought I should post the recipe because it is so scrumptious. It really helps if you have a noodle roller to roll out the dough flat. The dough is very elastic and is hard to do with a rolling pin (but not impossible). So here it is:

Noodles:
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
4 tbs. milk
2 c. flour

Mix. Cut dough into 4 pieces then roll thin. Cut into thin strips (I use a cutting board as a straight edge and a pizza cutter). Microwave each batch 3 minutes.

Soup:
4 cans chicken broth
1 c. water
4 cubes chicken bouillon
2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
3 carrots or bunch of mini carrots, cut in chunks
1 onion, cut in chunks
2-3 celery stalks, cut in chunks

In large pan combine chicken broth, water, and bouillon, bring to boil. Add vegetables, chicken, and egg noodles. Simmer for 1 hour.

Hope you enjoy! It's definitely a favorite of ours!

Dressing up is fun!

So our Halloween was busy and fun! Thursday the kids had their parade at school and class parties, and then at night a huge carnival at the school (it's their big fundraiser). The carnival was a blast with food and games and a spook alley (which I think spooked little Andrew too much, he woke up about 5 times that night crying). On Friday we had a huge trunk-r-treat (3 wards) and walked the neighborhood a little bit in Inkom. Needless to say Andrew couldn't carry his bag anymore before the night was over because it was so heavy. And last but not least we went to a party at a family in our area. Adults played games and kids stayed in the basement to play...it was a bunch of fun! So Andrew is Pluto (he actually had a mask but it was kinda big so I made these ears instead (I must admit finding a yellow sweatsuit was not easy...or cheap). It worked out though. Any guesses what Josh is?................. He is the infamous Zorro!
Caleb of course is a vampire.
Can you tell he had fun with it?
Okay you can stop laughing now. :) Jon had a hoot with this costume all day at work. His hair actually stood taller but this picture doesn't give it justice.
This year I went way out of my element as a woman back from the dead. It was fun to be something very different. A lot of people didn't even recognize me!
I wish you could see my makeup better. I had dark grey circles around my eyes, which really made a good effect.

Photo Tag

I was tagged by Sherrie to do this and thought it was a fun and different tag to do. I had to post the 4th picture from the 4th folder. This was a snowman my mom and the boys made clear back in October of 2006. I thought the leaves were a nice touch! I tag anyone who's up for doing it! It's a quick and easy one!

2nd Annual Inkom Ward Harvest Cook-Off

Our ward had a great activity this past Saturday! It was a cook-off with several categories we could enter. The categories were soups, rolls/breads, desserts, desserts made by kids, and pumpkin carving. We entered the soup and pumpkin carving categories and to my surprise I won first place for my soup....yummy homemade chicken noodle soup! (Gotta love how they spelled Thuernagle! Ha!) Our pumpkins didn't win but I thought they were pretty neat so check 'em out below!

What could it be?

Caleb worked all afternoon on his pumpkin for the contest and had many frustrations. But I was proud of him because he stuck it out and brought his pumpkin to the ward social. So...what exactly is his pumpkin carving? Scroll down to see!Amazing what a little darkness and a candle can do!

Mr. Caterpillar

Here's my pumpkin carving entry...Mr. Caterpillar. It was a lot harder to put together than I thought it was going to be, but nonetheless I was happy how he turned out!

I get to go to school now too!!

Andrew started preschool on September 9th and is absolutely loving it! I wasn't sure how he would react to a new teacher and me leaving him there, but all went great! He loves his teacher and he was just fine staying at school without me! Yeah! I'm so proud of my little Drew!

I couldn't help but post this picture too. This is the face he does to everyone....especially strangers. Ha!
